For the most part, I was completely intrigued with this film. The oddity of it all somehow matched perfectly with a social commentary that delves into the darkest parts of humanity, whilst still remaining grounded in an intense reality, not often portrayed on screen. There were certainly moments of gratuity that I found somewhat frustrating - but perhaps this was intentional from the filmmaker. There is a place for films that make you question norms, and this one does so beautifully and unapologetically.

I'm really glad that we watched and discussed this film. Had I watched it independently, I wouldn't have considered the depth and insight of the film. I enjoyed that it was an absolute shock to the system. The trailer doesn't give much away so I went in with very little knowledge of the Director, story line and genre. Some of the scenes really pushed the envelope for my personal preferences but I'm still very happy to have been introduced to such a thought-provoking film. There was definitely a lot to discuss!

I knew next to nothing about Border going into it and that seemed like a good way to watch it. While it is certainly a strange film, it is handled in a very realistic, matter-of-fact way, and I really enjoyed that style combined with the outlandish story. I also liked how its meaning is ambiguous, leaving the viewer to draw their own interpretations. A very unique film in the best sense of the word.
