Lauren and Ned are engaged, they are in love, and they have just ten days to find Lauren's mother who has gone AWOL somewhere in the remote far north of Australia, reunite her parents and pull off their dream wedding.

I really enjoyed this film! It is what it is, a pleasant rom-com with agreeable characters and story line that needs little guess-work. However, it’s the combination of humor, relatable Australian references and picturesque locations that really increases the films likability. As far as recent Australian productions go, the visual of this film is more polished by comparison. The latter half of the film was particularly enjoyable especially the tiny snapshot of the Tiwi islands.

A light-hearted romantic comedy which I thoroughly enjoyed- especially the super Aussie accents! The beautiful northern territory landscape also plays a major role here and is just spectacular. Actor and co-writer Miranda Tapsell has done a great job giving us a heartfelt and engaging story about the importance of identity, family and re-connecting with your ‘country.’

There will be many for which this film greatly appeals. It wasn't exactly my cup of tea, however I deeply appreciate the importance of telling Australian stories, particularly Indigenous Australian stories - and this one does it well. The scenery is beautiful and the characters endearing and I believe this work will maintain it's place in the Australian cinematic landscape for years to come.

The story line is a bit predictable, but it is goes well with Aboriginal culture shown and enthusiastic good nature, which I quite enjoyed.  The extras, Aboriginal people in various places and particularly on the Tiwi Islands, give it a good authenticity and provides a reflective backdrop for many of the story's aspects.

Novelistic in scope, grandeur and impact, and featuring three brilliant performances, it's a gripping psychological study of thwarted love, ambition and obsession, depicting a love triangle between an aspiring young writer, his childhood neighbour and her mysterious and handsome new friend. Lee's teasing and noirish film creates a tantalising mood of uncertainty and complexity, with the story's themes of class, family, rage and lust rising feverishly to the surface.
