I really enjoyed watching this classic underdog film. The story line is predictable from the beginning but thanks to the characters in the main family unit, there is a touch more depth than your average feel-good blockbuster. Florence Pugh, Vince Vaughn and Lena Headey each do a wonderful job of providing humor without venturing into ‘parody’ territory. A film touting a ‘never give up’ message is always a pleasure to watch, especially when well made like this one. (Posted on 30/07/2019)

There’s nothing that steps too far outside the box with this film, but it’s highly entertaining none-the-less. The cast, humor and overall light-hearted and heart-felt story maintain an extremely watchable tone throughout. It’s easy to feel for the characters and despite the moments where it seemed to slug on a little, I couldn’t find much to dislike. Highly recommend for anyone after a purely entertaining watch.
