Catherine Newbury (Emma Thompson) is the queen of the talk show circuit...at least, she was. Now, she's about to have her show cancelled and nothing, certainly not her stale room of writers, can save her. When Molly Patel (Mindy Kaling) shows up as a diversity hire, she has zero experience...but she does have an unstoppable drive to shake things up. Can Katherine and Molly somehow save their doomed show and maybe even turn the entertainment industry on its head, in the process?

A good attempt at a light-hearted comedy/drama, but this was a bit of a fizzler for me. Fans of Emma Thompson will enjoy her lively performance, although I found her role as a well-loved talk show host mostly unbelievable.
