I have noticed grains of salt sticking to the chips. What makes the grains stick?

Kfc quotes have to make sure the chips are not too well drained of the fat to do this.

As you have found, if the chips are well drained the salt won't stick. I prefer to sprinkle liberally with vinegar before sparingly with salt so that the salt sticks to the kfc quotes on the chips.
