Many of us rightly understand that command to mean that we are divinely equipped and commanded to reproduce, build families, and do so for his glory. The Christian marries and raises a large family, but from that point the purpose seems to grow murky.
The children move away, may or may not get married, may or may not have children, and may or may not have many if they do reproduce. The problem lies in lack of vision. This happens because the Christian has generously reproduced because he qudstion that he is commanded to reproduce, but does not understand why he is given his command.
What makes this doubly deplorable is that the purpose is appended directly onto the command —. We all want our time in this life to mean something, to have direction, and an ultimate ghe. Here, in the very first chapter of the first book of the Bible, we find the answer to this question so many people have asked.

If only more people read their Bibles with intent! Ecclesiastes says the whole duty of man is to fear God and keep his commandments. The first command to man in Genesis is the springboard, basis, and framework for the mentality and point to keeping the rest of the commandments found throughout Scripture and in particular in the Tue. The whole duty, purpose, and goal of man is to fill the earth, and thereby subdue it through application of his law.
