Key details
I'm fairly new semi manual cars the car scene and I have the wonderful problem of having a newish, reliable daily. The problem cags that? My mechanical knowledge is subpar but I want to learn. I've also been wanting to learn stick, and my daily doesn't exactly have a manual transmission I have a motorcycle, so I understand HOW to drive one, just haven't done it in a car. The obvious answer is an NB or NA miata, if you want rear wheel drive. Plus as a bike guy I'm guessing you'd enjoy something light and agile.
I've been seriously considering a miata, but my area has notoriously straight roads. Do you think think agility would be enough to choose it over something else? That's kind of up to personal preference, but I think for your budget, especially if you want something manuap and easy to learn to work on, it'd be pretty hard to beat a miata. Semi manual cars it's kind of crazy that you can still get a miata at a reasonable price.
Those days will end at some point though. Even with the past few years, older miatas have skyrocketed in price. I've seen a couple in my area around the 5k range and I'll probably check one out. Thanks for the advice!
They are all good candidates for project cars too. Miatas under 5K are in generally bad shape and will need more work. Use of this site constitutes acceptance of our User Agreement and Privacy Policy. All rights reserved. Want to join? Log in or sign up in seconds.
