The story of King George VI, his impromptu ascension to the throne of the British Empire in , and the speech therapist who helped the unsure monarch overcome his stutter. He talked about the development of his stutter, the struggles he endured during his life, and how the idea came about for the movie. It was a very special night for our club and the almost guests that came along to join us. We were grateful that we had several additional special guests join us too. We also had the pleasure of our own Division B International Speech Contest winner, Shirley, and of course, the man that made it all possible with his vision almost ten years ago and the founder of our club Harminder Dhillon. Harminder reminisced about the period before the club was established and when he first saw the Kings Speech movie in the cinema and how it was the first time he experienced a cinema audience give a standing ovation for a movie. That may have been the pivotal moment to inspire him to create something new that would continue to help and inspire people almost a decade later.Stammering king - impossible

But when you are a King preparing a country for war, your words have the power to change millions of lives. The movie tells the story of King George VI and his journey to overcome stammering. The film conveys, with incredible insight, both the psychological and behavioural issues surrounding stammering. This clear depiction can be attributed to the fact that the writer, David Shidler, had experienced stammering as a child. That, and an astonishingly well-chosen cast of actors we already know to have the chops but are given an opportunity to soar in a film defined by literate writing and direction.
Intended for the throne is Edward, the John F. It is, and it is solid.
