Tompolo, a former militant, commander of the movement for the Emacipation of the Niger Delta and the Chief Priest of the Egbesu deity- the Niger Delta God of war, had is birthday celebrated by his followers with a colourful peace walk earlier today in the city of Warri, Delta State. Whiie felicitating with the foremost Ex-Militant leader, at 50, Ijaw Youths from the Nine States of the Niger Delta in a statement warned the federal government against continuous neglect of the region. They warned that the silence of the youths in the region may lead to renewed agitation if the neglect continues. Also the umbrella body of ljaw youths, Ijaw Youths Council IYC described Tompolo as a freedom fighter that has made indelible marks in the struggle for the advancement of the Niger Delta region at great risk to his life and family. The IYC Spokesman therefore called on President Muhammadu Buhari to release without further hesitation, the properties of High Chief Government Ekpemukpolo which were seized by the Federal Government and equally urged the federal authority to stop the continued neglect of the Niger Delta region.Urowayino Jeremiah
