In the movie, Ferris, an outgoing high school student, is witty enough to fake illness in front of his naive parents and get the day off school. Throughout the day, his two friends and he go out for a good time in the city even if it means taking some risks and almost running into his dad. In the end, Ferris just makes it. As a high school student I felt as though the positive outcomes would overpower the negatives, which I soon realized would not be the case. The peer pressure I felt from my friends who smoked also added to the reasoning behind my choice to try smoking during the initial stage of my high school experience. Ethical relativism argues that what is morally right or wrong may vary in a fundamental way from person to person or from culture to culture.
