Some may have even been fortunate enough. Some may have even been fortunate enough to visit Italy themselves, only to discover that the fanciest set of wheels available at the airport rental counter is a Fiat Punto. Hardly the type of vehicle to do such roads justice. However, rental car company Hertz has heard the plaintive cry of the car-loving tourist and announced that a brace of Lotus car rental Elise SCs has been added to its Italian fleet.
The Lotuses form part of Hertz Italiana's Fun Collection, and are all painted yellow and feature Hertz-branded interior trim. They won't come cheaply, but the Hertz Elise SCs would arguably be the most click option for renting a proper sportscar to explore the country's autostradas and B-roads with.
